Sr. Art Director
Overall, this project consisted of the complete site redesign(s) for the Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, a private aircraft manufacturer based out of Wichita, Kansas. As the brand was beginning to feel old and outdated, my role as Sr. Art Director consisted of creating the overall look and feel of three websites – each its own rebranding campaign – bringing a 90-year-old company back to the public's perception of innovation and technology.
In a time where the economy was less than perfect, and CEOs were facing scrutiny for flying private aircraft, our solution was to focus the content around operational cost savings, fuel economy, and time management, versus luxury. As the project evolved throughout its 8-month lifespan, Hawker Beechcraft faced company-wide layoffs and a shift in management, making every step of the creative process scrutinized by their executive staff.
I was responsible for the overall art direction of the project from sketches and mood boards to final site. I managed designers in multiple offices, led on-site client presentations, researched, pitched and provided creative direction to video and 3D vendors, as well as provided art direction of video and photography assets. Although the thinking and concepts outweighed the final product, the end result was still a success.
